ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW: Seventh-day AdvenRst Church BriRsh Columbia Conference serves as the
administraRve headquarters for the SDA Church throughout BriRsh Columbia and the Yukon. With a
mission to Learn, Love, and Live, the Conference supports a network of churches, schools, ministries,
campgrounds, and community programs while providing leadership in areas including educaRon, youth
ministry, family life, health, communicaRon, church ministries, and planned giving. Through its diverse
departments and ministries, the Conference is commiYed to evangelism, fostering spiritual growth,
community outreach, and meaningful service across the region.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Superintendent of EducaRon provides spiritual and administraRve leadership
for the Conference K-12 educaRon system, ensuring alignment with North American Division (NAD),
Seventh-day AdvenRst Church in Canada (SDACC), and provincial educaRonal policies while promoRng
excellence in AdvenRst ChrisRan educaRon throughout BriRsh Columbia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Model ChrisRan leadership, support the mission of SDA educaRon ministry, foster the vision of
AdvenRst educaRon, and nurture Conference educaRon personnel spiritually
• Supervise and administer the Conference K-12 educaRon system in accordance with NAD,
SDACC, and provincial policies
• Develop long-range strategic plans for educaRonal growth (budgeRng, faciliRes, technology,
curriculum), including development of the annual Conference educaRon budget
• Serve as liaison between Conference administraRon, schools, church consRtuencies, and
provincial educaRon agencies
• Conduct school accreditaRon visits and provide training and support for school leaders
• Implement curriculum policies of SDACC K-12 Board of EducaRon, NAD, and BC Ministry of
EducaRon
• IniRate and evaluate innovaRve, research-based educaRonal programs
• Provide classroom supervision, teacher evaluaRons, and professional development opportuniRes
• Direct in-service programs including workshops, convenRons, and summer schoo
