What is in a Name
Tribute to Charlie Kirk
“Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name.” – Philippians 2:9
Charlie Kirk’s name has traveled globally since his passing. However, from the videos I watched of Him before that frightful day of His death, Charlie didn’t want to be known as Charlie, he wanted to be known as child of God who was serving his Lord and Savior.
Charlie’s name has been taken very high and very low. It is disheartening to see the division caused by a man who just wanted to see people set free.
Now you can argue that, and say all kinds of nasty things, but let me give you a contextual visual here.
Lately has anyone stepped in front of a bullet for you, perhaps not? Has anyone cared if you made it home safely, maybe? Has anyone stepped up and paid all your debts for you, not for me? Has anyone brought you peace and joy in your struggles? Has anyone focused solely on you, and said nothing but encouraging words to you, and absolutely meant it? Has anyone cared enough to be truthful with you? Has anyone wanted the best for you today, and for all eternity? Okay, maybe your parents and grandparents. But, an absolute stranger, I think not.
Okay I hear you, so what does all this have to do with Charlie Kirk? Well Charlie had experienced all these things, and not from a human being. Because no human could ever offer another human being all these things; we are all too flawed, jaded and imperfect. Charlie experienced them from His Lord. And perhaps you don’t believe that. But what if he wanted as many people as possible to feel that kind of love. What if he wanted you to know that there is only one way to live forever, and he didn’t want you to miss it.
See Charlie wasn’t looking for fame, and he didn’t care if you remembered His name. All he wanted was for you to know the man who saved him and his life.
See you later, Charlie. Well done, good and faithful servant!
