Campground Worker (Summer Position)
Sunset Point Christian Camp is a dynamic faith-based Camp along the shores of Lac Ste. Anne
west of Edmonton. About 30 different groups utilize the camp facilities every summer. As well,
the Camp is home to 175 private cabins and a 120-unit campground.
We are looking for a Campground Worker to perform tasks such as overseeing the facilitation
of Camp recreational amenities, including cleaning of those areas, mini golf, bonfire areas,
playgrounds, signing in and out of recreational equipment. You will be responsible for
maintaining equipment and working with Camp staff to ensure the Camp’s facilities and grounds
are tidy and functional. You will also take an active role in daily supporting the housekeeping
and maintenance teams. Duties will involve cleaning and maintenance of Camp
accommodations as well as landscaping and other maintenance tasks as required.
Location: Sunset Point Christian Camp, one hour north-west of Edmonton.
Term: May 18 – August 28th, 2026
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day (8:00 am to 4:00 pm) Sunday to Thursday, or
Tuesday to Saturday. Some evening/weekend work will be required during peak times.
Compensation: $19/hour plus 4% Holiday Pay
Reports to: Housekeeping & Logistical Support Team Lead, and/or Operations Manager
Responsibilities
• Perform housekeeping and cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming,
making beds, washrooms, etc.
• Support grounds upkeep by, collecting trash, etc.
• Oversee the facilitation of the Camps recreational amenities. Work with Office
Administrative Assistant to promote amenities, sign in and out of equipment, and the
completion of waivers as applicable.
• Take an active role in adhering and championing the safety program in place at the
Camp.
• Assist and collaborate with other staff to ensure the smooth operation of recreation
amenities (Putter’s Paradise mini golf, canoes, kayaks, outdoor volleyball, basketball,
etc.)
• Facilitate landscaping work, planting and watering gardens, weeding.
• Work with housekeeping staff to organize Camp inventory and respond to group needs
and inquiring for items and information.
• Other duties as required to support the ongoing delivery of quality services in peak times,
in collaboration with Camp management, staff and student colleagues.
• Collaborate with summer student colleagues to support community volunteerism
initiatives

Requirements
• Must be between the ages of 18 – 30 years old.
• Must be able to do physical labour
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiar with using a computer.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Mobile phone.
• High Character.
Residency Preference
Preference will be given to applicants who for the duration of the employment contract reside
near the Camp (finding and paying for the accommodation is the responsibility of the applicant)
or in the immediate local area.
Position Status
Sunset Point Christian Camp has applied to the Canada Summer Jobs program for a funding
subsidy for this position. The status of the application will not be known until early in April
2026, and hence final confirmation of the successful candidate will only occur at that time.
