He loves ministering to men and worship ministry as well. He believes the church needs to be visible and helpful in the community and leads from a practical, down to earth perspective. Dean is husband to Melanie of 28 years and has two adult children, Nathan and Ainsleigh and a son-in-law Joshua. Dean loves spending time with his family!
Young Adults & Youth Director; Tescha Kember
Tescha has been actively involved in youth and young adult ministry for over 17 years. She began at 16 by founding a youth group network in the Greater Toronto Area, uniting churches for collective weekend gatherings of fellowship and discipleship. Since then, she has led youth and young adult ministries alongside her husband Phil, served in worship ministry, and is now serving as Youth and Young Adults Director at Brigden Community Church. Together, she and Phil are passionate about discipleship—not only introducing young people to Christ, but also walking with them as their faith deepens and watching them grow into leaders for the next generation. Community and authentic relationships have always been at the heart of her ministry.
Professionally, Tescha graduated from the Child and Youth Worker program at Lambton College in 2013, after completing her initial studies at Seneca College in Toronto. She worked in residential children’s mental health services across Ontario, living alongside youth in both short- and long-term care homes, supporting them in moments of intense need. These years gave her a deeper understanding of the very real challenges young people face, and fostered in her a tenacity for compassion and the conviction to walk with others even in their darkest seasons.
Her ministry passions include worship, discipleship, and evangelism. She loves encouraging young people to grow deeper in God’s Word through memorization, prayer, and community. Galatians 1:10 has been a life verse since her teenage years, when God shifted her focus from pleasing others to seeking His calling and approval above all else. She longs to help youth and young adults embrace that same truth in pivotal seasons of decision-making, choosing God’s ways over the world’s expectations. Matthew 11:28 is another passage close to her heart, having been a lifeline during a season of struggle and uncertainty in her faith. It reminds her—and those she ministers to—that Jesus alone offers true rest, not as a one-time experience but as a lifelong practice. This fuels her passion to see young people not only ignite in faith, but continue burning strong through trials and challenges.
Tescha and her husband, Phil, have been married for 13 years and enjoy being parents to three children through fostering. Tescha loves spending quality time with her family, and can often be found at the beach, hiking, traveling, crafting, playing ultimate frisbee, cooking or on some kind of foodie adventure.
