I used to sell diamonds, and it occurred to me that there are many similarities with my current role as realtor.
Properties, like diamonds, are often markers for different milestones in your life. From first time buyer to acquiring an investment or vacation property each transaction is unique. The 4Cs of diamond grading can equally be applied to the Real Estate journey –
Carat – I’ve worked with every size of diamond from “melee” to “Great Whites”. In Real Restate the same principles apply whether selecting the most compact condo or tiny-home vs a luxury estate or multi-unit property. The size of property is important to consider for your budget, lifestyle and future growth as a family or the expansion of your real estate portfolio. One can maximize size by compromising on other characteristics or sacrifice size to get the perfectly formed property. One is not better than the other – the client gets to choose
Colour – Diamonds are graded from colourless to fancy coloured and it takes expertise to discern the differences from one grade to another and explain the value associated with this characteristic of a diamond’s natural appearance. Similarly, what differentiates a credible realtor is the ability to compare and contrast each property for purchase or sale so that the client is empowered to make the most appropriate offer the property under consideration or decide upon the most strategic listing price for the property they are saying goodbye to. Emotions can get in the way of making a wise decision and I’m here to help make sense of the different value propositions of the properties in question.
Clarity – The mapping out of a diamonds characteristics enables a client to see the truly individual nature of every gemstone that the earth creates. No two diamonds are alike and being able to communicate the details of a stone’s inclusions and blemishes takes accuracy and skill. The same can be said of every Real Estate transaction – No two clients, properties or trades are alike. Communication is key in discovering the needs and wants of an individual buyer client, ensuring that properties are marketed effectively for a seller and that offers are crafted accurately to protect the client’s interests in every circumstance and outcome. That’s clarity in action.
Cut – The cut of a diamond is the human contribution to the beauty of these natural stones. When the cutter executes perfectly, the brilliance and performance of the stone is released, and the diamond reaches its fullest potential. The human contribution of a realtor who is genuinely curious, consistently warm and always driving for excellence in executing their client’s wishes creates the difference in your real estate experience. I want your experience to shine bright and sparkle with joy and warmth and I am committed to creating the best possible outcome for you and your future.
… and hey…sometimes you are in a position to get it all…I’m all in for that “50CT DIF Type IIA” property… if that’s on your wish list…let’s talk!
