Worship Assistant Job Description

● Coordinate and schedule musical accompanists, Worship Praise Teams, Church
Choirs, and any other group or individuals involved in leading worship and enter details
into the Worship Planning page. Make new Google Docs, put the link in the worship
planner and share with necessary participants.

● Strive to have a variety of singers and musicians involved, and to try to encourage
growth of members, especially our youth and those of various ethnic groups who may
not all be familiar with all the music being led.

● Manage a collection of music and other resources, within the worship committee
budget, for the benefit and use of participants and planners. Attend worship committee
meetings and provide committee with a Worship Assistant Report.

● Work with the Pastor (or visiting pastor) to carefully choose music using old and familiar
hymns/song as well as striving to introduce and have new music taught, allowing input
from the Pianists that will play them.

● Contact the sound and media technicians as needed, notifying them of any mid-week
and Sunday morning praise team practices. Maintain and Provide Schedule to Pianist,
Sound and Media volunteers.

● Use the CCLI database and our hymnals to locate music. Input correct lyrics and verses
to be sung into the Google Doc by Friday at noon, 10 days prior to the service.
(2024-review and make sure it is all correct in the google doc by Wednesday-5 days
before).

● Send songs, YouTube links and sheet music to all praise team participants, as needed,
so they can hear and learn the songs.

● Set up stands, find or photocopy music and the order of worship for praise team
practice and attend practices if requested by the pianist.

● At the conclusion of the service, ensure all music has been put back into the song
binders, and all required clean up is done.

● Ensure the songs used in each service are entered into the Song List so as to keep our
music database updated.

● Attend staff meetings as scheduled. Typically once a month.

● This is an 8 hour per service planned, paid position with up to 6 designated Sundays off
in the year. The hourly wage is $21.32 per hour. Position to begin as soon as possible.
